Light-duty bus sales in India remain flat in first three-quarters of FY 2024-25

India - Sales of light-duty buses (7.5t & below) increased marginally by 0.2% to 36,497 units in the first three quarters (April-December) of fiscal year 2024-25, up from 36,417 units in the same period of 2023-24. However, production declined by 12.3% from almost 52,000 to 45,451, while exports improved by 38.9% to over 3,000.

In the minibus segment (GVW ≤ 5 tons, more than 13 seats including driver), sales declined by 7.8% to 10,014 units in Q1-Q3 of 2024-25, down from 10,865 units in Q1-Q3 of 2023-24. However, exports more than doubled to 528 units, while production fell by 3.8%.
