Rigid truck market in India down by 12,000 vehicles in first nine months of fiscal year 2024-25

India - Sales of medium and heavy rigid trucks (7.5t GVW and above) in India declined by 7% in the first three quarters (April-December) of fiscal year 2024-25, decreased to 168,233 units from 180,820 units in the same period of 2023-24. However, rigid truck exports surged by 45.6%, reaching 8,198 units in 2024-25, compared with 5,630 units in 2023-24. Production also saw a 7.3% decline, falling to 183,587 units from 198,141 units in the previous year.

Sales of medium-duty rigid trucks (7.5t to 12t GVW) grew by 5.5% in the first three quarters of 2024-25, reaching 28,741 units, up from 27,247 units in 2023-24. Export sales surged by 26.9%, while production increased by 3.3%.
