UK / Germany - Johnson Matthey Plc* (JM) of London, a specialist chemicals company which manufactures catalysts, pharmaceutical materials, and pollution control systems, has signed an agreement with multi-national engineering and technology company, Robert Bosch GmbH, based in Stuttgart, Germany, to collaborate on hydrogen technology development**. Specifically, this partnership focuses on the development and production of catalyst-coated membranes (CCMs) for fuel cell stacks. JM's high-performance CCMs will be integrated into Bosch's fuel cell power modules, designed for commercial vehicles. Product development will take place at Bosch's fuel cell centre in Stuttgart-Feuerbach, Germany.

In 2023 JM signed an agreement with Plug Power Inc, a producer of fuel-cell systems and electrolysers of Latham, New York, to build a joint 5GW catalyst-coated membranes (CCM) manufacturing facility in the USA in 2025.
