Q4 2024 sales in Indonesia rebound from weak levels

Indonesia - The Indonesian market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw bounced by 10% year-on-year to 37,677 units in the fourth quarter of 2024 after plunging by 29% to 34,126 units a year earlier, based on wholesale data from local industry association Gaikindo.

The Indonesian economy expanded by just over 5.0% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2024, marginally better than in the previous quarter, supported by a slight improvement in private consumption to 5.0% from 4.9%. Government spending growth slowed to 4.2% from 4.6%, while fixed investment grew by 5.0% compared with 5.2%.
