Malaysia – The Malaysian commercial vehicle market over 2 tons gvw declined by 11% to 19,379 units in the fourth quarter of 2024 from 21,804 in the same period of the previous year, based on data compiled by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).

Malaysian GDP growth moderated slightly in the fourth quarter, to 5.0% year-on-year from 5.3% in the third quarter, reflecting a slowdown in manufacturing and mining activity and in agricultural output, according to government data. This was offset by slightly stronger private consumption growth, of 4.9% from 4.8%, while government spending growth slowed to 3.3% from 4.9% and fixed investment grew by 11.7% compared with 15.3% previously.
