UK – Having delivered the first batch of its new Enviro100EV single-decker electric buses to UK transport operator, Stagecoach late last year, Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) of Larbert, UK, announced that Shuttle Buses based in Kilwinning, Scotland, became the first independent operator to receive the Enviro100EV. The purchase was part-funded by the Scottish Government through the first phase of the Scottish Zero Emission Bus challenge fund (ScotZEB 1). The Enviro100EV body was constructed in Zhuhai, China, and the chassis assembled at Alexander Dennis's facility in Scarborough, England.
The 8.5 metre Enviro 100EV electric bus, which has a passenger capacity of 25, was fitted with a 260-kW peak and 230-kW continuous power Voith electric motor. The 354 kWh battery system, supplied by Impact Clean Power Technology provides a range of 460 kilometres (285 miles) on a single charge.
