Mann+Hummel installs test bench for fuel cell components

Inside Mann+Hummel's humidifier test bench in Ludwigsberg

Germany – Filtration systems specialist Mann+Hummel GmbH of Ludwigsberg, Baden-Württemberg has installed a test bench for fuel cell components in its head R&D centre, allowing the company to test humidifiers and other systems under real conditions.

The new test bench, installed in the company’s Ludwigsberg research and development facility, can measure the efficiency and lifetime of fuel cell components such as humidifiers. It can simultaneously test multiple components in a temperature range between -40 and +120 degrees Celsius “without time-consuming set-up”, according to Mann+Hummel. The company can use the equipment to directly compare multiple types of component through performance and endurance tests (over a thousand hours).
