USAMack Trucks Inc, a subsidiary of Volvo based in Greensboro, North Carolina, has launched a new Class 8 truck for long-haul applications, focused on improving driver comfort, vehicle safety, and aerodynamics.

The ‘Pioneer’ is apparently a rebadged variant of the model year 2025 ‘VNL’, first unveiled in early 2024. It features an almost identical exterior cab design, with a large front grille and an aerodynamic design which Mack claims will improve – in combination with improvements to the engine and transmission – fuel efficiency by up to 11% compared to other models. Moreover, the option to replace traditional wing mirrors with cameras can increase fuel savings by a further 1%, according to Mack.
