CV Show 2025
UK – The big news coming out of the 25th CV Show currently taking place at the NEC Birmingham (April 29th to May 1 2025), is that the Nineteen Group, a global leader in event organisation, has announced the acquisition of The Commercial Vehicle Show. The move follows a successful management partnership that began in August 2024, during which Nineteen was appointed to organise the Show.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Michael Costain, Event Director at Nineteen Group, who shared his ambitious vision for transforming the CV Show into the “IAA of the UK.” Costain outlined plans to enhance the visitor experience by actively listening to attendee feedback, broaden the show’s scope by attracting more start-up firms, and, critically, bring truck manufacturers back to the floor. Leveraging its advanced data systems, Nineteen aims to extract deeper insights from both visitors and exhibitors to deliver greater value. While no venue change is planned, the NEC remains the preferred location. Integrating the CV Show into Nineteen’s wider events portfolio further solidifies its position in the transport and logistics sector. With Nineteen’s track record in event delivery, the future of the CV Show looks bright.
Later, I stopped by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) to have a conversation with CEO Mike Hawes, who reaffirmed the continued involvement of both the RHA and SMMT in shaping the Show’s future. He told me that the acquisition marks a significant milestone for both parties. The collaboration has already demonstrated clear synergy, combining the Show’s industry stature with Nineteen’s event expertise.
Peter Jones, CEO of Nineteen Group, said:
We’re thrilled to officially welcome the Commercial Vehicle Show into the Nineteen portfolio. It’s an iconic event, and we’re committed to building on its success and deepening its impact across the sector.
