Truck and bus production grows 8.2% and 10.5% in Brazil

Brazil - Truck production grew by 8.2% in the first quarter (January to March) of this year to 31,731 units compared with 29,327 in the same period in 2024, according to data from the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (ANFAVEA), based in São Paulo.

Almost truck all segments showed growth, semi-light, light, medium and semi-heavy. Only the heavy segment, the one with the largest production volume, showed a decline of 3.7%, with 16,759 vehicles manufactured, compared to 17,405 in the same period last year. The medium-duty segment grew the most, up 91.3% at 1,305 units (682), followed by the semi-light segment, up 35.3% at 184 units (136), the second largest segment, semi-heavy trucks grew by 28.4% to 8,933 units (6,959), while the largest truck segment of heavy-duty trucks decreased by 3.7% to 16,759.
