Volta Trucks enters administration following failed relaunch

UK – Volta Commercial Vehicles Ltd – formerly known as ‘Volta Trucks AB’ and registered in London, UK – has entered administration, following six years of operation and twelve months after announcing a comeback under a new name and business model.
Over the past year, Volta Trucks attempted, under the leadership of Essa Al-Saleh, to relaunch its business after filing for bankruptcy at the end of 2023. The reconstituted company reportedly secured several orders, with trial programmes planned in six countries with twenty ‘Volta Zero’ trucks. These vehicles were stripped back to chassis cabs, replacing the proprietary box body with certified third-party upfits.
