ACT Expo 2025: Kenworth and Peterbilt launch truck ranges with ZF e-powertrain

The T880E from Kenworth

USA – At the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo, held between 28 April and 1 May in Anaheim, California, Paccar subsidiaries Kenworth and Peterbilt showcased a new generation of heavy-duty trucks installed with an electric powertrain from German supplier ZF.

Kenworth held a press conference at its stand to launch the ‘T880E’, which it claims is the industry’s first vocational Class 8 battery electric truck. Its sister company, Peterbilt, launched an equivalent vehicle called the ‘Model 567EV’, also intended for vocational applications. Both vehicles are propelled by the ZF ‘CeTrax’, a central drive system with integrated 3-speed transmission and power and torque ratings of up to 605 horsepower and 1,850 lb-ft, respectively.
