India’s bus and coach production up 43% in Q4 2024/25

India – Domestic sales of buses (7.5t gvw and above) were up by 10.5% in Q4 of the financial year 2024/25 (January to March) to register 22,049 units, up from 19,946 units in Q4 of FY 2023/24. Total bus production also increased in the last quarter of FY 2024/25 with output up by 43.2% at almost 26,000 vehicles! Total exports also increased in the quarter by 65.5% to a record 3,844 units from 2,323 units in Q4 FY 2023/24.
Turning to the individual segments, sales of medium-duty buses (ICV: 7.5 tonnes - 12 tonnes) registered a rise of 14.5% from 10,389 units in Q4 of FY 2023/24 to 11,892 units in same quarter for FY 2024/25. Production of the ICV bus range increased by 25.9% to register 12,728 units in Q4 FY 2024/25, up from 10,113 units.
