Light-duty truck sector dips 2.8% in FY 2024-25

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier (truck) vehicles (gvw ≤ 7.5t) fell by 2.8% to 528,045 units in FY 2024/25 from 543,008 units in FY 2023/24. Production of LCV goods decreased by 4.5% from 600,812 in the previous fiscal year to 573,473, whereas export sales rose by 20.2% from 43,962 units to 52,846 units in financial year 2024/25.
The largest segment, GVW ≤ 2t, saw a domestic sales fall by 11.6% to register 155,927 units in FY 2024/25 from 176,310 units in FY 2023/24. Exports also slipped by 19.3% and production decreased by 11.9% to just below 160,000 from 180,716 units.
