Light-duty buses domestic sales up 5.9%

India - Sales of light-duty passenger vehicles (7.5 tons and below) were up in the FY 2024/25 with rate of 5.9% to register 54,807 units (51,750). Exports grew by 34.6% to 4,889 (3,631) while production for the last fiscal year decreased by 10.5%.

In the minibus segment with seats more than 13 seats (GVW ≤ 5 tons no.of seats including the driver > 13) sales slid by 6.4% to 14,225 units in the FY 2024/25 from 15,195 units in FY 2023/24. Export sales rose by 39.5% but again production decreased in this segment by 8.6% to 16,440 (17,991).
