Scania to open global production hub in China

New production hub will improve Scania’s access to China’s next-generation technologies

China / Sweden - Truck manufacturer, Scania AB, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is scheduled to open its new production hub in China in the fourth quarter of 2025, the company’s CEO Christian Levin confirmed recently.

Scania, part of the Traton group which also includes brands such as MAN, International and Volkswagen Truck & Bus, began construction of the new production hub in Rugao, in China’s Jiangsu province, in 2022. The EUR 2 billion production facility, scheduled to be completed in October, will ultimately have a production capacity of 50,000 trucks per year - for sale in China and other markets in the region.
