Traton establishes groupwide R&D team for modular component development

GermanyTraton SE – the parent company of MAN, Scania, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus headquartered in Munich, Bavaria – has established a new groupwide research and development team, bringing together employees from across its truck and bus brands under a single umbrella.

As of 1 July, approximately 9,000 employees from research and development departments across the four brands were moved to the new groupwide team. They will be tasked with developing modular components that can be used by all the different vehicle brands within the group. In addition, the group R&D team will continue to work with around 3,000 colleagues in brand-specific R&D teams on brand-specific products.
