Scania to supply South Australia with 60 battery electric buses

Sweden / AustraliaScania AB, a subsidiary of Traton based in Södertälje, Sweden, has signed a contract with the local government to supply at least 60 battery electric buses to South Australia over the next four years.

Scania will supply its ‘K-series’ electric chassis with two axles and low entry and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including lane keeping, blind spot warning, and adaptive cruise control. The chassis will be bodied by Volgren. Each bus will have a seating capacity of 43 and a maximum range over 400 kilometres.
