Daimler Buses starts construction on its first bus depot

Site located in Lüneburg, Germany

Germany – Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH (owned by Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany) announced that it is building its first electric bus depot for MOIN Mobilitätsinfrastruktur und ‑betriebs GmbH (MOIN GmbH), a newly established public‑transport operator owned by the district of Lüneburg. Ground has been broken on the site located in Lüneburg, Germany, in the port’s industrial area. Daimler is acting as the general contractor for the project, handling the construction, engineering, installation of charging hardware, and the payment processing. This EUR 9.6 million investment encompasses twenty high-capacity chargers dedicated solely to electric buses, along with two transformers, offices and a parking bay. The depot is scheduled to begin operations in early 2026. The strategy behind this is, of course, to roll out the necessary infrastructure to support more electric buses in the market.
