Solaris receives order for 270 electric artics for Berlin

Poland / Germany – Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. of Bolechowo, Poland has announced an order for 270 battery electric articulated buses, placed by Berlin’s public transport operator as part of an existing framework agreement.

The 270 ‘Urbino 18 electric’ artics were ordered by Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, the state-owned company which manages public transportation in the German capital. These will be equipped Solaris’ “high energy” battery packs, which can be recharged via pantograph as well as through plug-in charging.
