USANew Flyer of America Inc, a subsidiary of NFI based in Crookston, Minnesota, has launched a new option for its fuel cell electric bus range, allowing customers to extend the range by up to 120 miles.

New Flyer’s ‘Xcelsior Charge FC’ 40-foot transit bus, formerly called ‘Charge H2’, can now be ordered with four additional storage tanks, adding an extra 17.5 kilograms of hydrogen fuel capacity. These tanks, mounted transversely on the roof of the bus, add to the standard five tanks, increasing the fuel capacity by nearly 50%.
