Commercial vehicle sales in Ecuador grow 17.2%

Ecuador - According to data released by AEADE (Association of Automotive Companies of Ecuador) of Quito, commercial vehicle sales grew by 17.2% to 8,580 units in the first half of this year, compared with 7,319 from January to June 2024. All segments showed increases, with the largest increase being buses with 520 units, a 34% increase over the 388 units sold in the same period last year. Trucks grew by 22.8% with 5,652 units, compared with 4,603 from January to June of the previous year, and vans, 3.4%, with 2,408 vehicles (2,328).

According to Genaro Baldeón, executive president of AEADE, the market recovery began in November of last year and continues to expand. He added that this was the best first half of the year for truck sales since 2021 and reflects the dynamism of the country's agricultural export sector.
