MAN offers portable charging solution with “Smart Charging Cube”

GermanyMAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of Traton based in Munich, Bavaria, is offering a portable charging option to its customers, allowing them to purchase or rent a battery storage unit capable of charging up to four trucks simultaneously.

The ‘Smart Charging Cube’, manufactured by German company AW Automotive, is a battery storage unit which can be recharged from mains power at currents between 32 and 630 amps. Depending on the specification, it can store between 500 and 1,100 kilowatt hours of energy. This storage energy can be used to power between one and four charging points, providing a maximum charging capacity of 400 kilowatts.
