Watt EV breaks ground on sixth heavy truck charging station in California

Groundbreaking ceremony at Port of Oakland, California

USAWatt EV Inc of Long Beach, California announced in June that it broke ground on its sixth truck charging site in the state, more than two years after it opened its first charging station.

The new site is in the Port of Oakland and is the company’s first in northern California. When it opens, it will be capable of charging twenty-five medium- and heavy-duty trucks simultaneously at up to 240 kilowatts each, or six trucks at 1.2 megawatts. With megawatt charging, Watt EV claims it can recharge a truck in less than thirty minutes.
