Indian light bus market grows 8% in Q1 of FY 2025/26

India - Sales of light-duty buses and coaches (GVW ≤ 7.5t) grew by 8.8%, reaching 16,949 units in Q1 FY2025-26, compared with 15,571 units in Q1 FY2024-25. However, production saw only a modest rise of 4.2% to 18,068 units, while exports dropped 9% to 926 units from 1,018 units.

In the minibus segment with more than 13 seats (GVW ≤ 5 tons), domestic sales surged 33.7% to 5,408 units, supported by an 18.4% increase in production, while exports nearly doubled, growing 94.4%.
