Market decline of CVs in Indonesia resumes in Q2/2025

Indonesia - The Indonesian market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw declined by 12% to 27,007 units the second quarter of 2025, following a 10% fall to 30,717 units in the same period of last year, based on wholesale data released by industry association, Gaikindo.
Economic growth in the country accelerated to 5.1% year-on-year in the second quarter, up from a downwardly revised 4.9% in the first quarter, driven mainly by stronger investment activity and exports. Private consumption growth was almost unchanged at just under 5% during the quarter, despite four 25 basis point interest rate cuts by the central bank in the last year to 5.25%, while government spending declined at a slower pace, by -0.3% compared with -1.4% in the first quarter.
