Vietnam - Vietnam’s market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw continued to recover strongly in the second quarter of 2025, with sales rising by 31% to 20,490 units from a weak 15,606 units a year earlier, based on wholesale data released by the Vietnam Automotive Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and separate data provided by Hyundai Motor. The data excludes some imports by non-affiliated companies, including a growing number of Chinese brands.

Economic growth in the country continued to accelerate in the second quarter, according to preliminary government data, with GDP expanding by almost 8% year-on-year, up from 6.9% in the first quarter. This was the fastest rate of growth since the initial pandemic rebound in 2022, driven by strong domestic consumption and export growth.
