Uber Freight partners with Tesla to launch dedicated “EV Fleet Accelerator”

USA - Uber Freight has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Tesla Inc, headquartered in Austin, Texas, aimed at accelerating the adoption of heavy-duty electric trucks in the U.S. freight sector. The initiative combines subsidies on Tesla Semi purchases (scheduled to go into series production in 2026) with multi-year dedicated contracts through Uber Freight’s network, giving carriers both financial support and guaranteed freight demand.

The initiative directly tackles the biggest hurdles carriers face when considering electric trucks: high upfront costs, uncertainty around vehicle utilisation, and concerns over long-term return on investment. By guaranteeing freight demand and reducing capital costs, Uber Freight’s program provides fleets with a clearer pathway toward electrification.
