Germany – Germany installed its first public megawatt charger for trucks in September, as part of a funded project to test MAN battery electric trucks with the new megawatt charging standard.

Funded by the federal ministry of transport and the European Union, the “High-Performance Charging in Long-Distance Truck Transport” project will test megawatt charging technology along the Bundesautobahn 2, which connects Berlin with the Ruhr industrial region of western Germany. Megawatt as well as conventional charging points will be set up at six locations between the Ruhr and the city of Wolfsburg along the route.
