The market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw in the Philippines rebounded by over 130% to an estimated 21,692 units in the second quarter of 2021 after plunging by 83% to 9,426 units in the same period of last year.

The Malaysian commercial vehicle market over 2 tons gvw surged by almost 142% to 9,820 units in the second quarter of 2021 after plunging by over 70% to 4,064 units in the same period of last year.

Japan’s commercial vehicle market over 2 tons gvw expanded by just 9% to 91,928 units in the second quarter of 2021 after declining by 22% to 84,437 units a year earlier.

The Indonesian market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw rebounded strongly in the second quarter of 2021, to 26,788 units after plunging by almost 80% to 6,452 units in the same period of last year.

Sales of commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw in East Asia’s seven main markets, excluding China, rebounded by almost 32% to a combined 329,034 units in the second quarter of 2021 after plunging by over 38% to 250,023 units in the same period of last year

UD Trucks, headquartered in Ageo in Japan’s Saitama prefecture ( a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors since March 2021 following the disposal by the Volvo Group) announced in July that it has introduced its UD Active Steering system in its domestic heavy-duty Quon trucks, which the company claims vastly improves steering precision and driver comfort.
