Nikola to work together with Canada’s TC Energy in production of hydrogen

|

By Bradley Osborne - 11th October 2021

USA / Canada Nikola Corporation, a designer of zero-emission truck concepts based in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, has signed a joint development agreement with TC Energy Corporation, an energy company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to work together in the construction and operation of large-scale hydrogen production facilities in the U.S. and Canada.

The two companies are currently identifying key geographic locations near major truck corridors where new facilities would be most suitably placed. Once in service, each facility is expected to produce around 150 tonnes of low-cost, low-carbon hydrogen per day. The facilities will leverage TC Energy’s existing pipeline, storage, and power assets to reduce the total cost of the project and to speed up delivery of hydrogen.
