Irizar enters truck market with new battery-electric vehicle

Spain – The Irizar Group, a manufacturer of buses and coaches based in Ormaiztegi, Spain, has launched a new battery-electric truck in a first for the company. With a 370 mm access step, the Irizar ‘ie truck’ is billed as the lowest-entry truck on the market. The truck was exhibited at Solutrans in Lyon, France, 16-20 November 2021.

The ie truck comes in two options: a 4x2 with a 160 kW motor and a 6x3 with a 240 kW motor. Each is fitted with a 340-kWh battery, providing a range of 250 km, along with the option to expand the range with a compressed natural gas range extender.
