ZF to integrate emergency service telematics with Ziegler fire trucks

Germany – ZF Friedrichshafen AG of Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg has agreed a strategic partnership with Ziegler GmbH, a specialty truck manufacturer and subsidiary of China International Marine Containers Co Ltd (CIMC) based in Pöttmes, Bavaria, to equip Ziegler’s firefighting vehicles with telematics software tailor-made for emergency and rescue operations.
The multimillion-euro deal between the two companies means that ZF will immediately start equipping Ziegler vehicles with ‘ZF Rescue Connect’ as an option for Ziegler customers, providing emergency operation centres with detailed information on each vehicle in the fleet through a cloud-based platform. In addition, ZF and Ziegler have committed to working together in furthering the digitalisation and networking of Ziegler firefighting vehicles.
