MAN to participate in hydrogen truck project in Bavaria

GermanyMAN Truck & Bus SE of Munich, Bavaria is participating in a hydrogen truck project which is being funded by the state of Bavaria, amounting to EUR8.5m. The announcement was made during the unveiling of a prototype battery-electric truck – see article in this issue.

Called ‘Bayernflotte’ (lit., “Bavarian fleet”), the project brings together the expertise of MAN, Bosch, Faurecia, and ZF to develop five fuel-cell electric trucks. Deliveries of the trucks to BayWa, DB Schenker, GRESS Spedition, Rhenus Logistics, and Spedition Dettendorfer is planned for mid-2024. These firms will test the trucks in normal operations for the span of a year.
