USAPACCAR Inc of Bellevue, Washington has announced it will offer the new specification ‘X15N’ natural gas engine by Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana in heavy-duty trucks manufactured by PACCAR subsidiaries Kenworth and Peterbilt

Cummins released the X15N back in 2021 as a successor to the 2017 X-Series iteration with improvements to the emissions control system. The engine manufacturer claims that the NOx emitted by the X15N is lower than the standard set to be introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency in 2024. The 15-litre engine provides a max output of 500hp and peak torque of 1,850 lbs-ft. With this new option, PACCAR claims it is offering a “sustainable, affordable power solution” that uses “proven engine technology and existing infrastructure”.
