Renault Trucks opening a used parts factory in Vénissieux

Remanufacture of old Renault Trucks vehicles at the Used Trucks Factory in Saint-Priest, France

FranceRenault Trucks SAS, a truck manufacturer and subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Saint-Priest, France, has announced it is opening a plant dedicated to the recycling of used parts at its engine manufactory in Vénissieux, in line with its strategy to develop a circular economy of vehicles and components.

The Used Parts Factory, a 3,000m2 plant situated within its Vénissieux site and close to its headquarters, will be used for dismantling end-of-life Renault Trucks vehicles. Any components that can be salvaged – the engine, gearbox, cabin parts, fuel tank, bumpers, deflectors, etc. – will be removed first. The rest will be taken apart and recycled in the manufacture of new trucks: for instance, the rails will be cut up and melted down to provide raw material for another vehicle.
