Fuso unveils next-generation eCanter at IAA Transportation 2022

The next-generation Fuso eCanter, unveiled at the Daimler Truck stand in Hanover

Germany / JapanMitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (“Fuso”) of Kawasaki, Japan unveiled the next-generation light-duty eCanter truck for the European market at a pre-conference event hosted by parent Daimler Truck AG in Hanover on 18 September, following an unveiling in Japan on 7 September.

The biggest change Fuso has made to the eCanter is integrating the electric motor with the rear axle, thus freeing up space and allowing for a wider range of chassis configurations than before. In Japan alone, 28 variants of the next-generation eCanter will be available; in Europe, 42 will be offered. Gross vehicle weights between 4.25t and 8.55t1 and six different wheelbases (between 2,500mm and 4750mm) are now available as options. In addition, a wider cab (1,995 mm) will be offered alongside the standard 1,695mm configuration.2 Power outputs of 110 kW and 129 kW will be provided for lighter trucks (between 4.25t and 6t) and heavier trucks respectively.
