HERE Technologies partners with OEMs to introduce speed assistance technology in commercial vehicles

Germany / Netherlands – At this year’s IAA Transportation event in Hannover, Germany, HERE Global BV, a GPS navigation software company trading as “HERE Technologies” and based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, announced a partnership with 15 commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturers representing 30 brands, on Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) technology to reduce speeding under the European Union’s (EU) new regulation requiring drivers to have the legal speed limit constantly displayed on the dashboard.
New EU regulation requires all newly registered vehicles in the EU to have an ISA feature displaying the legal speed limit starting July 2024 with HERE working alongside its solution partners to deliver this ISA compliance technology covering all EU roads. Truck and car manufacturers must pass an ISA vehicle test prior to sale, with a 90% accuracy in speed limit data over a 400km driving distance.
