DAF delivers the first LF distribution truck with new PACCAR engine

Netherlands - Dutch truck manufacturer, DAF Trucks NV of Eindhoven, Netherlands, has delivered the first LF distribution truck with new PACCAR Inc drivelines. According to DAF, the new PACCAR PX-5 and PX-7 engines, in combination with the new automatic 8-speed PowerLine gearboxes, offer up to 7% higher fuel efficiency compared to the previous models. The first delivery is to the Farnborough Van & Truck Hire (FVTH) in the UK, a rental and contract hire company with a fleet of over 600 trucks. Speaking about its new purchase, Tim Houghton, FVTH Managing Director, said: “The new powertrain takes city distribution to the next level as it really does bring passenger car-like drive-ability, combined with the lowest fuel consumption.”
