Krone offers a new Ice-Protect system

Krone Ice-Protect System

Germany - Trailer manufacturer, Krone Commercial Vehicles SE (a subsidiary of Bernard Krone Holding GmbH & Co KG) of Werlte, unveiled the Krone Ice-Protect system, which prevents ice slabs from forming on the tarpaulin roofs of commercial vehicles, increasing road safety. When stationary, a control panel on the side of the vehicle can be activated by the driver to raise the roof tarpaulin by 175mm, to create a saddle so that water, ice and snow can slide off the roof preventing ice formation. The system works through the use of an air hose located centrally between the roof tarpaulin and the crossbar, which, when filled with air from the onboard compressed air system, raises the roof tarpaulin activating the ‘ice slab tunnel’ – the process takes just 90 seconds! This product is available for all new curtainsider semi-trailers but can also be retrofitted.
