The jury praised the concept of the truck, which was first unveiled at the last IAA Transportation event in 2022: originally called ‘eActros Long Haul’, the idea was to develop a truck capable of covering up to 500 kilometres on a single charge.

The deal is subject to approval: if permitted by the antitrust authorities, Krone will make use of Schwarzmüller’s sales and manufacturing footprint to extend its market presence in Europe and expand its distribution capacity.

Krone announced that CTE Trailers will start as the new official importer for Krone in Bulgaria, replacing Krone BG Ltd. This is due to the rising demand for Krone trailers in the country as CTE Trailers has a large service network (five authorised service partners) offering comprehensive after-market services.

Krone appointed two new sales managers to strengthen the UK sales team as demand for Krone trailers increases throughout the region.

Currently, in its fifth generation, the Profi Liner now features a new multi-lock outer frame, more than 3,000 lashing possibilities for securing loads and is now available with numerous telematics functions.

Krone says improvements to its double-deck curtainsider semi-trailer include increased stability, better handling, shorter turnaround times and holds more cargo than its predecessor with 62 pallet spaces on two levels.

Krone’s Ice-Protect system prevents ice slabs from forming on the tarpaulin roofs of commercial vehicles, increasing road and driver safety.

The return of the IAA (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) commercial vehicle show in 2022 is remarkable in itself, given that the last exhibition was held in 2018; the biannual event should have taken place again in 2020, but it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
