South Korea / Germany – Electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturer, LG Energy Solution (LGES) Ltd has announced it signed a multi-year deal with Germany’s Munich-based Freudenberg Group to supply it with some 19 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of lithium-ion battery cell modules. The signing ceremony took place in January in the South Korean capital Seoul, where LGES is headquartered.

The battery division, which is managed through its e-Power Systems Business Group, under the Weinheim-based Freudenberg Sealing Technologies GmbH & Co KG subsidiary, is investing heavily to meet rising demand for electric powertrains for its commercial vehicle customers based mainly in North America and Europe.
