GermanyMAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, has announced an important milestone in the development of the Common Base Engine: it has completed construction of a new factory based in Nuremberg where production is set to begin next year.

MAN executives marked the achievement with a ceremony on 22 March inside the 23,000-square-metre building. Once it is outfitted with equipment, the factory will employ more than 160 people, who will be engaged in producing an internal combustion engine platform for new vehicles sold under Traton’s brands. In parallel, electric drive components and battery packs will also be produced in Nuremberg.
