Schmitz trailer data platform to be integrated with Trimble Transportation fleet management

Germany / USA – Schmitz Cargobull AG, a manufacturer of semi-trailers and truck bodies based in Horstmar, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, has announced that its data management platform for connected trailers will be integrated with Trimble Transportation Inc’s fleet management software.
New Schmitz trailers are installed with ‘TrailerConnect’ telematics hardware as standard. These send data to the company’s Data Management Center, an online platform which presents the information to truck-trailer fleet operators. Now the Data Management Center will be integrated with Trimble Transportation’s own fleet management platform, meaning that operators can access all their vehicle data on one platform without needing to install additional hardware. Additionally, operators will be able to send trailer data to end customers through Trimble Transportation’s platform.
