Krone celebrates 25 years of Profi Liner production

Germany – In March this year, trailer manufacturer, Krone Commercial Vehicles SE (a subsidiary of Bernard Krone Holding GmbH & Co KG) of Werlte, celebrated 25 years of the Profi Liner curtainsider trailer, which debuted at the 1998 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show. The company responded to the growing European demand for sliding curtain semitrailers as increasingly, customers were loading from the side instead of from the rear.
When the product came to market it featured a steel end wall and rear door with single-joint hinge, complementing the basic chassis construction and the cable routing, which were all considered revolutionary features at the time. Krone claims it was also the first trailer manufacturer in 1997 to utilise a KTL plus powder process for long-term protection against rust.
