Volta Zero assembly at Steyr Automotive plant in Austria

Sweden / Austria – On 17 April, Volta Trucks AB of Stockholm, Sweden announced the launch of series production of its 16-tonne ‘Volta Zero’ battery-electric trucks at its contract manufacturing facility owned by Steyr Automotive GmbH in Austria.

The announcement marks the beginning of production of the final “customer-specification” models, following the awarding of type approval for the EU last month. Volta Trucks said that the first batch of trucks to roll off the line will be supplied to customers taking part in its test drive programme (the ‘Volta Zero Driving Experience Programme’). The company added that the first customer orders will be fulfilled from Q3 2023 onwards.
