MAN teaming up with Mobileye for autonomous bus project

Germany / Israel – MAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, has announced it is working with Mobileye Global Inc of Jerusalem, Israel on the ‘MINGA’ project, which seeks to deploy an autonomous bus in the city of Munich by 2025.
Mobileye offers a Level 4 self-driving system, called ‘Mobileye Drive’, which is purportedly ready for “scalable commercial use”. The technology makes use of a range of different perception systems, including cameras, long- and short-range lidars, and radars. So far, Mobileye Drive has been employed by robotaxis offering ride-hailing services.
