Germany / ItalyQuantron AG of Gersthofen, Bavaria, Germany has announced that it recently acquired EYES srl, the retrofit subsidiary of power converter manufacturer FRIEM SpA, in order to expand its business into Italy.

A year ago, Quantron announced it would cooperate with FRIEM and EYES in order to enter the Italian retrofit market. The partnership reportedly led to the conversion of minibuses for a customer in Italy (Ente Parco Arcipelago Toscano dell’Isola d’Elba). Following an undisclosed transaction between Quantron and FRIEM, the German retrofit firm will now be acquiring 100% of the EYES business, including a site in the town of Cernusco sul Naviglio, 11 kilometres away from Milan.
