Germany – Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg has announced it is on track for its long-haul battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros Tractor to go into series production in September to be manufactured at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, Germany. In order to drive up consumer interest, the company has been publishing many of its tests, such as the 3,000km trip the truck took from the Arctic Circle to Stuttgart.

The launch of the Mercedes-Benz eActros is also important for multiple other plants in Germany, which provide key components with battery packs being assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Mannheim. Electric axles are assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kassel and associated transmission components are manufactured at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Gaggenau.
