USANikola Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona has been awarded a grant of USD41.9m from the California Transportation Commission to build six hydrogen fuel stations for heavy trucks in southern California.

Together with sponsor California Department of Transportation (“Caltrans”), Nikola’s “Hyla” brand will build six stations across three air quality management districts which cover Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Mojave Desert. Each station will be large enough to refuel between 80 and 100 trucks per day, and Nikola says their capacity will be expanded over time.
